I have an issue with websites redirecting me. When I click on some links I
get redirected to everything under the sun except what I want. I can sometimes get the site I want, but I have to click it several times or sometime it works if I open the link in a new tab. I have tried several extensions, but none do the job. Is there anything any of you know of that will solve this issue in Chrome and/or FireFox, but preferably Chrome? Thanx, Zepe |

I think that you have a malware on the computer. Which sites are you being redirected to? I think those must be rogue sites.
I would suggest running scans with antivirus, and antispyware. Preferably run the scan while being disconnected from the internet.

Anupam is right to suggest a scan just in case something is trying to hijack your browser.
These things can be very site/browser specific though. With Firefox for instance (AdblockPlus installed) I can surf the links on Pirate Bay without issue. Using Chrome and Opera though with the same adblocking extensions, as soon as I enter a search query into Pirate Bay, or click a link, a second window to a red rated (WOT) gambling site opens. If you share one of the links you are trying to access, the rest of us can try with our own browser set up and see what we get ![]()

I suggest to keep the scans for a few days, until you find no more malware.
SUPERAntispyware is excellent detecting adware, maybe you should scan with it if you have not. http://www.superantispyware.com/index.html You should think about how to prevent being infected or you will be infected again if you go to the same sites all the time. Unless you prevent, same sites that infected you, will infect you again next time you visit them. There are many programs that fight browser hijacking, Spywareblaster is one of them, it will prevent your browser from being redirectioned. Read about it before you install it if you decide to try it. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html Bo |

SpywareBlaster only protects Firefox cookies, and does nothing for Chrome. It's only useful if you use Internet Explorer.
Malware problems will be virtually non-existent if you learn Sandboxie or a similar program. |
