There are many reported issues for this event, and just as many reported fixes
Here's a couple of examples.http://www.emaildiscussions.com/showthread.php?t=49710 http://www.winvistatips.com/server-e...d-t802322.html All email clients have something most of us either love or hate, but unless you have a specific reason for using Windows, I suggest looking at Thunderbird. I've never had one single issue setting up any of my accounts except for one which I have to "accept" a certificate for manually. Everything else is just set up automatically from the account details entered.

MidnightCowboy recommends Thunderbird but it may not be a trivial move for you to make. A couple of years ago, when I moved off Outlook Express I went to Thunderbird until I found it couldn't do all I needed with my Hotmail accounts. So I went to Windows Live Mail instead.
