How can one retrieve or login to his windows OS if he or she has forgotten his login credentials, any advise would be much appreciated.

Have a great day.

What about the admin login? Have you forgotten the password for that too?

If no password has been set for that you can access it through safe mode. From there, you can access the other account(s) and then reset the password or remove it.

Which version of Windows? There are different approaches depending on whether it is XP, Vista, or 7.

You need a password reset disk. There is plenty of software could create such a disk. Just google search on the Internet.
