Hi, welcome to the forum
.For the RAM upgrade, I would suggest going to the vendor/shop, from where you purchased the netbook. Tell them to upgrade the RAM to 2 GB, and they should do it. I saw the specifications for the netbook model, and it comes with 1 GB, and is upgradable to 2 GB. Its best to go to the vendor. As for a free antivirus, please have a look at this article : http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...s-software.htm I will suggest Avast free antivirus. Microsoft Security Essentials(MSE) is very good too, but people are not satisfied with the latest version of 2.0. The people using MSE 2.0 might share their views here about it. If not, just go for Avast, which will run light, and is trouble free, with excellent protection.

I used to run Avast on my old laptop. The laptop had 1 gig of ram and a single core running at around 1.7 gig with XP SP2 and ran smooth as silk so you should be fine with Avast on your netbook.
