Default Cannot Uninstall Divx Setup

I installed the Divx player and it put a whole lot of other things on besides the player. It was a 95 Mb download. I don't want this and tried to uninstall from the control panel. It will not uninstall because it freezes up upon uninstall..

I tried to uninstall on cCleaner and when it comes up to uninstall , it freezes here too. So how can I get this stuff off my computer. The player has taken over all my other ones and I don't like this at all. I can no longer even use Real Player . So I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me how to get this off my computer.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You may want to download Revo uninstaller and try to uninstall Divx that way. You can download revo from here

wdhpr. Thanks for the tool link. It did take it out of the control panel and registry , but it was still in my files. I deleted out what I could. These two would not delete.

DivxUPdate and DivxUPdateCheck.dill

Hopefully (Jillian) the two files left will cause you no harm and presumably the file associations for this software will also be gone now, so you should be able to operate your other players without issue.

If you still encounter problems you could try a system restore back to a point before this program was installed. This will only be a pain if you've since installed other stuff you want to keep.

@Jillian

You could maybe use one of these undeletable file removers if you wanted to try to remove those remaining files.

Thanks for all your help eveyone. I did download the Revo uninstaller and it did take it out of the Control Panel , but it still remained in my Program Files where it installed. I deleted all of it out except for two update files that would not allow me to delete them. I did a system restore and got rid of all of it.

Thanks.
