Question Securely giveaway old XP machine?

It's time for me to leave my old XP desktop for a new Win 7 machine. I want to be reasonably sure that no old data can be recovered. I plan to do the following.

a. Using my newly created USBD4Win CD, I will wipe (and format) my C disk with the help of Disk Wipe.

b. I will then install XP SP3 from a slipstreamed CD built from my original XP SP2 CD. (I will not update XP any further, since I don't want to connect to Internet from this machine anymore.)

Will this work? Grateful for a verdict!

Should be enough after you zero the disk, no need for more than one pass.

Thank you J.L. I thought that more than one pass would be required, but I guess that starting with Wipe Disk's quick formatting, followed by a disk wipe and then installing XP will leave little to recover.
