Hi!
I'm planning the move to Windows 7 and was wondering if I could get some general advice. Mainly, are the utilities that I used on XP still relevant for Windows 7? Or should I be researching for Windows 7 specific tools? Right now I use Code:
- Avira - a-squared - Malwarebytes - SUPER AntiSpyware - Sandboxie - CCleaner - Defraggler Thanks for any tips! |

Just need to be aware that unfortunately Sandboxie will not work with 64 bit Windows 7

You're welcome.
Here's a nice list of freeware that's compatible with Windows 7 - sevenforums-free-great-programs-windows-7 I find it good for reference. |

Hi KL90,
I have used Avira, SUPER Antispyware, CCleaner and Defraggler in Win7 3Bit for a while with no problems. Instead of Avira and SUPER I am currenlty giving MS's own Security Essentials a shot. So far, so good...

Heck, I have around 75 softwares (80-90% 32-bit) and all of them work fine w/o using the compatibility tab. Most of them are Gizmo's recommendations of course. I also have 22 games installed, all of them playable. Do expect some compatibility issues though (had to give up around 10 softwares/games).
Using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. |
