MS updates

Did everyone get their 17 updates in the last couple of days? Did mine yesterday and I'm getting no response from Opera while I"m browsing, it starts fine but when I want to go from one page to the next I'll get a no response and have to shut it down. Any one else having a similar problem?

I received many ms updates a few days ago. Lots of Ms Office security updates. Problem is I don't use MS Office. I do use MS Word. I thought they were different products. Not sure now.

Anyway I had one MS Office security update that would not install. Tried several times. Finally I disabled auto updates and went to the MS update sight and disabled that update through custom update option. I have it scheduled now to manual update every week.

I use Opera 10 and have no noticeable problems following the MS updates.

I actually only received a total of 12 updates (presumably the number will vary depending on your particular set-up). I don't have .NET for example.

It seems the longer and more often that I start and use Opera the better it is getting. Been using about an hour now and no problems hope it stays that way.

I normally use Opera 9.51 but briefly yesterday afternoon after rebooting after the updates I decided to try out Opera10 USB. I am using Sygate Firewall and as I opened Opera10 Windows Firewall ask me if I wanted to allow Opera to do something or other. Puzzled I said yes as I never get requests from Windows Firewall. I then had visitors arrive and closed Opera10 and had repeated requests from Sygate to allow a connection to OperaUSB which I denied about 10 times and finally allowed just to shut it up.

My regular Opera 9.51 is behaving fine. I wish there was a way for me to know exactly which windows updates I REALLY need as they are getting bigger and bigger. 18MB worth this time so I blocked the Malicious tool one which took it back to 9-10MB. Luckily I have no Microsoft Office product. I wish microsoft would figure out that not everyone can download willy nilly
