Currently, I trying to copy my system onto a new 2tb RAID drive, but Macrium's Linux Boot CD cannot detect it.
Will the Bart PE detect it? It does need this plugin right? Will it work with Macrium's plugin? If that doesn't work, what in the best drive imaging freeware that works on RAID? Edit Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I need something that works in partitions. Last edited by J_L; 22. Aug 2009 at 03:53 AM. |

In the end, I've decided to get rid of RAID after all. Backups are far more important, and I'll finally get large enough disc for my personal data.
Just one last question before deletion: Can I just quick format my discs this time instead of doing another lengthy full format? I've already done it on the RAID, so the bad sectors shouldn't exist right? |

Darn, I said it too soon.. After failing with Norton Ghost 7 (yes old version, my dad's), I had lost all hopes, but then I forgot about Macrium's own restore function! Since the image file was on an external drive, and the RAID drive I'm using it on isn't currently being utilized, it can implement the image onto there!
Depended way too much on the Rescue CD after all.. Everything is fine now, but I still need a good freeware that can restore an image on an active system drive. It must be able to support RAID and partitions within it. |
