I am running it fine on vista 64.

First off, its just a bit tricky to enter a profile. You have to enter your name, hit enter, and then click the difficulty. This is what creates the profile. I spent a bit trying to figure this out

If it's a crash or a freeze try this, if the first dosn't fix it, try the second:
Run it as Administrator. If you don't know how, read on.
(1) a. Find its shortcut in the start menu (Default take2/Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe/Play Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe) and right click on it.
b. Select "Properties"
c. In that window click the "Shortcut" tab and then the "Advanced" button (on the bottom)
d. Check the box "Run as administrator"
e. Exit

If this does not work run it in compatibility mode for windows xp:
(2) a. Continue from step b
b. Click the "Compatibility" tab
c. Check the "Run this program in compatiblility mode for:"box, and leave it as "Windows XP service pack 2"

If it still doesn't work:
Disable any virtual drives (could be checking if the wrong cd is in and getting a positive)
Restart your computer

I haven't got back to it yet. My son has been tearing up battlefield 1942 (not Free). I wasn't aware how popular BF1942 is.
I'll give hidden and dangerous a go on my machine.

Again Thanks

I've installed it, created a profile just fine, and played the first campaign mission. However, I don't like the controls. And, I can't figure out how to zoom in or use the binoculars. It took me 3 tries to get past the first campaign mission; I kept dying.

I probably won't play much more. The controls are just too awkward and stealth doesn't really seem to work all that well.

This is just another one of those head scratchers. I have installed a ton of games. First time for everything. I wonder if it may have something to do with my router's security features. No matter, I dont play First person shooters that often. I perfer games like warcraft, masters of magic, Civ etc etc

Cheers

The original controls are way awkward. I've completely re-mapped all of my controls. As for the binoculars, first you must equip them. I think the original controls for equipping a different weapon are ] [ and enter. I have zoom set to middle click, and zoom in set to right click. (Zoom just controls the camera position, while zoom in controls the scope) you have to hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse to move the scope in.

I'm glad I'm getting some remarks on this game, it can help for the review I'm writing.

Feel free to suggest more games guys

@wdhpr
If you like the strategy genre, try:
Battle for Wesnoth: http://wesnoth.org/
UFO: Alien Invasion: http://ufoai.sourceforge.net/
Ground Control: http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/groundcontrol/

If you're feeling audacious (au·da·cious  –adjective 1.extremely bold or daring; recklessly brave; fearless: an audacious explorer) try Dwarf Fortress: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/index.html
Beware the learning cliff, erm.. curve. Check out the features, it really is a great game.

Here's a tasty tidbit of a game, small, but I enjoy it:
