Hi.
I was wondering if anyone has had problems downloading Dr Web cure it. On several times over the past few months I have tried and failed. The download just stops part way through, sometimes after 5% last time t 98%. The last time I did get it was from cnet but it was days out of date, I just can't get it from their site. At first I thought it might be malware but I am using a different computer now and still can't download it. Is there another site that I could get an up to date version from? Thanks. |

I hope you are talking about the free version, because we won't provide help with the commercial version.
The setup is quite a big file, so I hope you are downloading using a download manager. If you do not use a download manager, there are chances of the download breaking up in between, and can't be resumed. With a download manager, you can resume the download.

Hi.
Yes I am trying to downlod the free version. No I was not using a download manager, I will look into that before I try again, but it is only Dr Web that gives me trouble. Also I think cureit changes the name of the file each download so that might cause problems for a download manager. Thanks. |

As I said, the file is of a large size, and so, it might be giving trouble. You should try a download manager. A download manager is not concerned with file name, but the file that is being downloaded should support download manager.

I have not downloaded Dr Webb in a long time but never had trouble downloading it even though I have never used a download manager.
The reason they change the name of the installer is to keep malware from identifying it and blocking the download. Anyway, if you are still having trouble downloading Dr Webb, maybe you like to try Hitman Pro instead. It uses 5 engines including Dr Webb. The installer is only about 6 MB. The scan only takes about one and a half minutes and it will detect something if you are infected. HMP is the only scanner of any kind that I am using. http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads Bo |

Or you could try Emsisoft free emergency kit which has a huge number of definitions. I use to clean up other computers. The other tools which are bundled together like blitz bank etc. are quite useful.
