I installed WinRAR and found out it was a evaluation copy. It is good for forty days only. I un installed it and it leaves a temp file which I cannot delete. It says it is read only and it is in use by another program.
I would like to take this program of cleanly and completely. I might install it sometime in the future but not right now. It handles some file types which could be a useful thing from time to time, but for the most part I do not need it. Does anyone know how to get rid of this program entirely. Thanx - dz |

There are people who installed the program way back in August 2008, and it is still working. Like in the olden DOS days, when you only had to click away a nag screen once in a while

As Christoph has indicated, you can keep using WinRar after the expiration of the trial, but you will get a nag screen.
There are alternatives that are free, without the nag screen, that will do what WinRar does and more. Best Free File Archiver/Zip Utility |

Unlocker worked - thanks guys
Also I read the page suggested above and supposedly there are some things which work even better that Unlocker - and on more stubborn files. Again - thanks for all that - dz |
