This may not be an appropriate post, so feel free to delete this post or let me know if this is not appropriate.
However, I am looking for some assistance from the group with Avira Premium. Every time I try to run a scan, it stops on c:\windows\system32\restore\srframe.mmf. I can do nothing at this point. The mouse moves but I can't open anything. If I pause or cancel the scan, I get a blue screen. I tried running sfc /scannow, but it says I need the Windows XP Professional SP2 CD, but I have the non-professional SP2 CD (and that's what is installed on my machine). Someone suggested upgrading to SP3, but I'm leary of doing that since that file is probably corrupted. I know that the file has to do something with system restore, but I'm not sure how to fix the corrupt file. Any idea? |

Please note: Before following any instructions below make sure you have a recent backup or image.
srframe.mmf is part of the System Restore core in windows xp...which I am going to guess you have. You can try disabling system restore and running the scan then to see if that helps. (Please keep in mind you will lose all past restore points if you do this) To disable system restore go to Start\Settings\Control Panel\System (or right click on My Computer and choose properties) and select the System Restore tab. Then select turn off system restore. You may also want to send Avira a support request in case they may be having issues with srframe.mmf Zjooj
