Default Copernic

I just realized that my Copernic Desktop Search is not working.

I uninstalled it and re-installed it but it still won't open.

I contacted the Copernic site but they told me to read the FAQ which I did but no answers there. They also said to read the Help file which I can't access or find.

I checked a couple of things that I thought might be blocking it but found nothing.

Any ideas why it won't open? I found it to be a better search program than the one that comes with Vista.

Thanks.

I had a similar problem recently, Copernic would not load at startup and would not load when manually launched. So, I ended up disabling my other auto-start programs, to see if that would help. Eventually I got it to work again, after uninstalling and re-installing, but never pinpointed the problem.

The newest free version automatically connects to the internet and shows ads in the lower part of the search window (kinda sleazy if you ask me). My suspicion is that I was somehow blocking it's internet access and it was not happy with that. Even though it's working now (and showing ads), it's been trying to launch Winmail.exe, which causes errors on my system. Too much hassle, so I just disabled Copernic from starting (until I need it again).

While I recommend the use of Copernic, I am certainly not an expert.

If you are using Vista, then I would suggest reading this thread:

Thanks.

Will check out the link you suggested.

I didn't even know that I had gotten any responses to my question. I looked for a setting when I posted to have me sent an email if any responses were sent.

Is there a setting on this board for enabling this option?

Thanks.

Duh! Never mind, just found the option. Must have been sleeping the
other time.[/B]
