I am unable to log out of the forum! When I try, I get the message "Access Denied".
I can log in and out on the "Freeware Review", but this apparently has no effect on the forum status. Not really a severe problem as such, but there may be some people who think I sit on this forum 24/7 ! ![]() Regards..... Mike Connor EDIT: OK, just tried again and it is working now! I also have been having problems logging in. It tells me I have "access denied". I have to wait a while before I'm able to get in. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying when I would like to post
. Thanks

Normally, this problem goes away if you log out, delete all tsa-related cookies, & then log in again. You might also have to close/reopen your browser and (more rarely) empty your cache.
If you don't know how to do any of that, plz post.

Just in case anyone's interested ....
The "problem" PrarieDog is experiencing is the only known side-effect of some really smart "behind the scenes" coding by our magic coder, George. In a sense, the main site (Drupal) and this Forum (vBulletin) are separate. But login-etc works seamlessly across both sites and it seems, appears, as if it's just one slightly big site. He achieves this partly by passing "persistent cookies" between the two systems. If you want to know more, post here and we'll get George to answer your queries.

Please read this thread:
http://www.techsupportalert.com/free...-of-worry.html Towards the end, George has explained about the problem. Also, many people have suggested workarounds to the problem.

Unfortunately Drupal (main site) and VB are only patched together. Loggin out from VB will create the access error when you are already logged out in Drupal.
Basically, when logging out in VB, the VB logout function also calls "techsupportalert.com/logout". Just go to TSA, logout and then navigate to that link again. You will get the same Access Denied error. Logout in Drupal instead. That works and logs you out in both as well.

I have to rephrase this issue a little.
The Access Denied error is not a VB problem, nor is it caused by linking the logouts together. It is simply a Drupal issue that other Drupal users have too. This is, that the link to logout from Drupal is "(drupalsite)/logout". It works fine when you are logged in. However, if you are logged out already it will lead to that error. In normal circumstances you will not see a "Logout" link on a Drupal site when you are logged out already. So it is in our case. But when you navigate to the link "../logout" manually or from remote when you are logged out you will get this Drupal error. Our VB logout remotely invokes the Drupal logout. In the case you are not logged in Drupal - oops, Access Denied. What I have done now to make this disappear is redirecting the Access Denied error route to the front page of TSA. I hope this makes it easier for all. You should not see the Acces Denied error anymore.
