I have been trying to ask a simple question in response to the mention of a service that offers 10 GB of free cloud service (the question asked what the difference was between this service and Windows Live SkyDrive, where I was able to get 25 GB of free cloud service). I logged in, correctly dealt with your capcha, and then was told "Your submission has triggered the spam filter and will not be accepted." Huh? I love this site and am dismayed by this treatment. Please explain what I have to do to post replies. Thanks.
I should add that I tried to post this message and it too was blocked. How can I communicate with you? I have even contributed financially to this site, and I feel very frustrated at this treatment.

Send me the text of the message you were trying to post by PM and I'll look into it for you.
I should add that we are constantly bombarded by supposedly genuine posts (spam) trying to promote these online storage services which could be one reason why the filters blocked it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this problem. Please don't feel too discriminated against. The spam filters kind of have a mind of their own. Even I have been blocked for no apparent reason before. We just use the service we did not make it. It is possible, that your user name was used by someone else before for spam or something similar like that. We have 10's of thousands of visitors every day, and problems like this do pop up from time to time. We will most certainly try to rectify the situation, and appreciated your understanding. Thank you as well for your past contributions. Ritho Foundation Editor

Thanks, Ritho, for your response. I'm both relieved and troubled to learn that you, too, have been blocked by the spam filters. What troubles me is that if they are that poorly designed, why does the site continue to use them?
I should add that although I am very new to this forum, I registered on the site months ago, so I was not some anonymous visitor. Even if someone else had used my user name on this site to send spam, I am almost 100% sure that no one would have used both my user name and my email address. I don't want to belabor this issue. Being unable to post a message isn't the end of the world. However, if this has happened to you and to me, it has almost surely happened to many other people as well, people who didn't bother to pursue the matter further but just left with an unpleasant feeling about the site. That's the last thing I'd want to see happen with a site as valuable as this one. |

There were a few issues with the site yesterday which may have caused this. These have now been fixed, our appologies for that. Please try again and if the error persists, post the text of your post here so one of the mods can see if something there might be causing the rejection.
