Unable to properly log in.

Whenever I logged in it took me to the main site, from there I clicked on the forums and when I got there I was logged out, I logged in by attempting to make a new thread which I couldn't without logging in.

RenderedUnsafe, a fool proof way would be to login to the main site first, and then move over to the forum. You will stay logged in that way.
