[Solved] Redirecting back to original page

I don't know if this has any relevance to the problem but I notice now that when I log in I get a page which displays my name and history. Can't ever remember seeing that before.

Maybe you didn't notice it earlier deya, but its always been that way . All working there .

That page comes up when logging in on the TSA main site, now it comes up even when you log in on the forum, which I'm sure it didn't before - maybe that's what deya means.

EDIT: And when logging off the forum, it now takes you to the TSA main site, which didn't happen before either.

Oh OK, so deya meant that. Well, I always login to the main site first, and then move over to the forum. So, I don't require to login to forum separately. That's why I never noticed that.

Recently, there have been some upgrades to the main site software, and in the process, the login process is being modified too. So, that's why you may see some changes that were not there before. Because of the upgrades, some problems are occurring too. The team is working in the background to solve the problems.

If anything is not working as it should, then please report to us.

This has been happening to me since a few days ago.
I always login at the forum and now after login, I am being taken to the
TSA main site. Before, after login at the forum, I remained at the forum.
For what its worth, I prefer it, the way it was. This is the only problem?
that I have experienced in the past few days.

What 26Dolphins has described there is how I'm seeing it now, I now get a page where I can edit personal details, bookmarks and stuff, which wasn't there before. Bo describes it the same as well - but since that page started to appear, for me, that's when the problem of not being able to start a new thread began, at least, to the best of my recollection.

I can post replies, and I can use the PM to send Anupam my info when the 403 happens. It's no big deal, it's just the new thread thing, everything else seems fine.

That page was always there. If you logged in from the main site, like I do, then you would see it everytime. But, since you logged in from forum, you did not get to see that page.

You can access that page from another link too, in order to see your details, or edit it. You can find it as "My Account/Password" under the menu of "Using this site" on the main site in LHS.

About these changes, there was a major upgrade to the site on 23rd May. Some of it went well, and some didn't. Therefore, as a result, we are now experiencing these changes, and errors. The team is working on solving them, but it will take sometime.

This change about logging in forum, and getting a page on main site, has been noted by the team, and they are working on it. Because of facing multiple problems, it may take sometime, before things are solved.

When I read a post and feel it is my duty to mankind to contribute. I will at that time log-on. After doing so I am redirected to the main sites home page. I then have to remember what category and thread I was intent on responding to. Perhaps I'm in the early stages of Dementia But it can take a bit of back tracking.

So I was wondering if this a change on the way the site now works or if the problem is on my end.
Sorry if this was already addressed but I couldn't find anything when I did a search.

I don't think this is a new issue. In my experience, it's been this way for quite a while. And, yes, it is kind of a pain.

What I've learned to do is copy the url of the page I'm on so that after I login, I just paste that url back into my browser. It's not ideal. It certainly would be preferable for it to re-direct back to the page I started on.

I think he is talking about the forum, where such a problem did not exist earlier.

Did it happen earlier too wdhpr?

If not, I think it has started since the upgrade happened some days back. Since then, the login process has been changed. So, things are behaving weirdly. This is being worked upon.
