Default [Solved] Passwords not matching after change

A while ago I changed password to let Admins login to fix the "mark forums read" link.

I changed the password back to real password, and I have to use my current real password to change my password under the User CP settings. However to login I have to use my previous temp password.

So my problem is that my User CP password and my login passwords aren't the same. Is there a fix for this?

Try clearing your history, cache, and cookies. I had to do that to even login on the forum.

You can check if it works beforehand by going into private browsing mode.

I tried that, didnt work.

On site's user page where it gives option to change email/password, when I save it says eyeb is already in use like it thinks i'm making a new account.

On forum's User CP->Settings->password, I have to use original password to change settings but I have to login using temp password.

So it is like I have a login password and then a separate forum settings password.

eyeb, I am not able to understand the situation here.

You said you have changed your password back to your real password. How did you do that? And, are you using that password to login to the site now?

If yes, then there is no need to change password for the forum, because the same ID and same password is used for forum too. There are no separate passwords for main site, and forum. Same account is used for both.

So, just login to the main site first, and then move to the forum. That's it.

it isn't cookies though :S that's why I think it's a forum problem lol

Anup, I'm able to change my password back to my real password, but I can't login with it. I have to login with the temp password. And I can't change the login password so it is stuck on the temp password.

I'll pm you with the passwords so you can try it, easier to try it then for me to explain I think.

Weird, I had sent it to you, and I have a copy of that PM in my Sent folder too. Check your private messages manually? Otherwise, I will email you.
