Default How to know what's updated in the Articles

Hi,

I'm checking out the "Recently Updated Articles" on a daily basis.
Two questions:
1. When is an Article included in this list? When content changes or even when new comments are made?
2. Maybe it's just me, but how can one easily spot what was updated in an Article? It's kind of tedious to read through the whole article every single time trying to find the changed/ added content.

Thanks in advance and if I'm out of line here, please accept my apologies.

Article is updated when the content is changed. The change can be minor, or major. Both ways, the article will show as updated.

Unfortunately, there is no way to find what was changed on the article since last time. So, you will just have to read the whole article again.

If the update is a significant addition, maybe the text can be boxed and dated?

Can you imagine how an article would look after a few updates with several boxes around parts of the text? Unless you take the marks out with every update. But that way, readers who don't check the "Updated" Section daily or every other day, would have missed the in-between updates. Of course, one can argue that for readers that don't visit this section often, the whole article would be sth new to read.

IMHO, the most reliable way would be to put some sort of textline indication on top or side of the new/ changed content, that includes the term "Update" along with the corrresponding date. It's sth that wouldn't take up much space and would blend better with the format of the articles.
I admit, I have no idea how feasible this is and I understand that, with time, this method would also lead to some clutter in the articles, unless a timelimit is set on how long an update is marked as one.

Anyway, this matter is not in my hands. I just wanted to know if there's a feature I'm missing that could save me the time and energy to read through the whole articles over & over in hope to catch the new or changed content. I admitt though that I got bored with this quite quickly and now, the only times I'd go through the entire article is when I'm looking for sth specific. Otherwise, I usually scroll through the article; if sth catches my eye, ok, else I go down to the comments and if there's sth indicating that a change has been made I go back to the article.

There's a feature available for checking the edited part and a log message on each revision of the articles, but I think those are only accessible to editors.

Another considerable option is for editors to also add log messages in an Editor Section to be added at the end of the article, but this needs to bring up to the Planning Group for discussion as this requirement would certainly demand more time and work from editors who are actually contributing to the site on a volunteer basis.

I thought I did mention significant, but anyways ... better not disturb oneself over what one can't control as advised by the AA motto.
