Default "Freeware News" riderecting webpages

Hi,

I'm on Firefox and not allowing auto redirections of webpages. I've noticed for a long time now, that when you click on the links for the "fileforum" and "freewaregenius.com" pages, they try to redirect displaying a page saying "Moved Permanently" and the new url path with the options to allow or deny.
If my memory serves me right, the "Download Junkie" link used to do the same (not any more).

Is this a deliberate implementation? And if yes, what purpose does it serve?

Thanks in advance,
26Dolphins

Hi 26dolphins,

we are not responsible when sites we link to decide to move to a different domain or subdomain. If such a thing happens it is always after we provided that link. However, we can of course fix those links.

Can you let us know where on TSA you found those links?

Hi George,
The mentioned links are in the "Freeware News" Section, sorry I wrote that only in my thread title thinking it would be enough.

Sorry I made you feel you needed to "defend" TSA; I only asked for some clarification on the situation and had no intention of looking for/ placing "responsibilities" (it's not my place, anyway).

Thanks for the reply,

Hi 26Dolphins

The "Freeware News" section is a feed aggregation page. That is, rather than something created by us it is just a collection of RSS feeds from different freeware sites.

We have no control over the content other than by removing or adding feeds.

If there is any evidence of a featured RSS feed containing misleading, deceptive or poor quality items then let me know and I'll drop it from the page.

Similarly if anyone is aware of a feed that we should add to the page then let me know.
