Default Login Trick

Every time I tried to login I got kicked to the Gizmo's Freeware Home Page. Even if I'm logged in there, when I come here, it shows I have to log in. I log in, back to square one.

Turns out attempting to reply to a post, I get the login page with the Remember Me checkbox. Here I am!!

Good thing I was wearing figure skates so I could do these figure 8s.

Yeah, the login is a bit typical because of the difference in software on main site, and the forum. Moreover, the registration for the main site is carried on to the forum, so that a single ID is required on both. Because of these, some problem can occur while logging on to the forum.

It is indeed a little cumbersome with the login. Reason is that Drupal (the CMS of our main site) and VBulletin (our forum software) are not intially made for each other. We are using a Drupal-VB bridge module that helps a lot but is not perfect.

We will soon upgrade to Drupal 6 on the main site and with it comes a newer version of the bridge module. I will reconfigure it then and hope that it has improved.

Yes I hope so too. I come in every day (just about) and, although it's only the work of a minute or so to go through the procedure and shouldn't be a real problem, I must admit I find it really, really irritating. As a result I only visit the forum a few times each day instead of the many times I used to. The main site I only visit when looking for something in particular. I know that doesn't say much for me but, when you get to my age and spend most of your day in front of the monitor, you get cranky. Little things become major irritations
