On 5/2, and on 2 other occasions since then, after I logged in and attempted to post a comment to the Site Suggestions and Feedback area, I got the error message:
"Your submission has triggered the installed spam filter and will not be accepted." I was signed in and replying to a message instead of posting a new comment. My message contained no links, no capital letters, and no product names. The filter's algorithms should not be set up to "reject" such content. I thought the problem might have been triggered because I was automatically logged in as a user when I had returned to the site, or perhaps had not logged out after posting an earlier message. However, even after logging out, logging back in, and then trying to post the message again, I got the same response. Apparently, however, it's not the content, or the length, which is the issue. I logged out of the site, returned without logging in, and attempted to post a reply as Guest. This time I got the response: "We are sorry, but the spam filter on this site decided that your submission could be spam. Please fill in the CAPTCHA below to get your submission accepted." That is the same message I got when I tried to post my first message, when signed in with my user name. Although annoying, the CAPTCHA box at least provided a workaround. The flat rejection of the "will not be accepted" response, with no available workaround, is way beyond annoying. |

I get this with every single post up to now, and I think it's great. Not only does it stop a great deal of rubbish, but it also prevents potential danger to users.
Some things take two seconds longer because one has to enter a captcha text, but the safety alone is worth it to me, and I certainly would not complain about it! ![]() Regards...... Mike Connor |
