Apologies if this has been asked before (I did a search but didn't really find what I wanted).
My question: Out of all the freeware drive imaging programs available (Macrium, Paragon, etc) does any of them provide the ability to create an image of a drive (which would be stored on an external, usb connected, hdd) from the boot disk environment? I know they allow for image restoration from the boot disk environment from external usb hdds - but do they allow for image creation? |

I use Paragon Backup and Recovery, so I can say for that, that yes, it has the option to create an image from the recovery disc that it creates.
Don't know about others, as I haven't used them.

Macrium and ToDo have that capability in their recovery media now also, a recent addition. And of course the 'off-line' applications do this as their normal mode of operation.
