I wondered the same thing but have tried (Acronis at least) on 6 different PCs/laptops and my son on at least 4 as far as I know and we had similar problems on all. Various specs and op systems on them too. On no machine did we have 100% success. There comes a time when you have to look elsewhere......

I've had no substantial problems, especially with the latest update.
But I had some probs with earlier updates, mostly annoyances and things you'd expect to be fixed in commercial software: 1. GUI problems (freezing/crashing) in Win7 2. Compatibility problems with "Secure Zone" and the StartUp console (so I no longer use these features) 3. Unable to recover using the RealTime Backups 4. I simply detest the non-intuitive over-complicated naming/organization of images 5. I've only had one image corruption in the past 2 years I've rarely had a problem with the actual making or recovery of images, in fact recovery has been much more reliable than Windows system recovery. I am especially hopeful for the RealTime Backup feature, which when the kinks have been worked out, will be the most useful feature I've seen in any other backup/imaging software. |
