I’m getting an error when i try to restore an xml drive image to a secondary drive.
ERROR MESSAGE: Missing”>”in close tag of element bitmapitem
The pc has three (3) drives and i’m trying to restore the image to the third drive which has been partitioned and made active. the original drive was SATA and i’m trying to write to an IDE drive…does this matter???

I haven't worked with xml drive images but I have worked with XML a lot. The error message you are getting seems to point to a simple missing closing bracket in the XML file describing your drive image.

I assume you have access that XML file. Open it in an XML editor (if you don't have one, try this free editor: http://www.firstobject.com/dn_editor.htm). In the file look for the element <bitmapitem>. This element should also have a closing tag: </bitmapitem>. Somewhere in this element or in the tags there is obviously a closing > bracket missing. It might be easy to find. Give it a try. Should you find the spot than just add the bracket, save the file and try again.
