Default Scotty's Birthday free giveaway

It was Scotty's birthday Nov 14th and Bill had a giveaway of free lifetime WinPatrol licences, free Malawarebyte licences and some product prizes. No purchase was necessary. The last day of the giveaway was November 20. I came across the invite to the giveaway on Wilders and checked out the WinPatrol website. These guys celebrate in style!

Winpatrol and MBAM both have free and paid versions ... because there is a paid version, is this the reason why Gizmo did not get a post from Winpatrol? Just asking. Also, just wanted to know if one comes across a giveaway such as this (paid versions in a giveaway), is it OK to post it in Hot Finds or would that be against the rules?

Anyway, Happy Birthday to Scotty. Bill is a pretty good guy and the product is stellar.

Man emmjay, you should have asked this question when the offer was going on .. we missed on this one, and never came to know about it, or it would have been on our site I think.

And yes, you can post about such offers in the Hot Finds... we always welcome posts about such quality products, which people can get for free from such offers.

I missed this too, but it was a contest so I am not sure it would have qualified.
I do not know our position on contests, but I seem to remember one getting knocked off of here in the past.

I did not realize it had only been 14 years since WinPatrol came out. I must have been among the first to get the upgraded version.

Of course, saying "only 14 years" shows that I am OLD.

Ah, if it was a contest, maybe it would not have been qualified for posting here. Some offers tending to only a few groups of people too won't be allowed, and so on. If in doubt, send a PM to the moderators about it before posting on the forum.

Contests, lucky dips, sweepstakes, and lotteries no, but pretty much everything else, yes. As Anupam says, please PM one of the mods for guidance if in doubt

Well thanks for clearing that up. I was conflicted.

I would say that this was not a competition, it was more in the lines of a lucky dip. One only had to enter your name and email details to enter/win.
