Software features

I really enjoy reading your website and have found some really useful free programmes. One suggestion I have is that for each programme users could suggest useful features for the programme. With so many programmes it is very difficult to read programme documentation and highlighting some features/tips would be very useful..

What exactly are you looking for? Suggesting new features? Posting information about existing features? Or something else?

If I understand you correctly, you want the category reviews to highlight some key information on each product.

Most of the reviews I have read here do point out salient features for some if not all products in each category. I know that I try to give an overview of important features or issues either in the introduction or in the review of any individual product.

The difficulty for us editors is that every additional highlight produces a longer review. It is difficult to balance our objective of quick easy to read reviews against the need for more detailed product knowledge. Usually specific features are best highlighted in one of the other types of articles:

tech treats
tech tips
how to guides
tutorials

I would imagine some reviews are much bigger than others and key points are only key depending on what you are doing with it.

I always found the forum the best if i want specific info and people can deal with your needs better then.
Most people like to promote good Freeware and thankfully there is a lot but Freeware takes a little more effort sometimes to find what you want, its well worth it.

I always look at all reviews when looking for info but when reviewing Freeware i try to keep it simple so new people don't get lost in jargon but it should have some depth.
Sounds easy but its not and i admire the people who balance it well and try and learn from it.
