Question email client for Windows 7

Having acquired a new PC with Windows 7 Pro, I hated the email offerings of Microsoft; and following the suggestion of Anonymous that eM Client is a lot like Outlook Express, I installed it , and what a pleasure it is! (Outlook Express is not compatible with Windows 7) I personally rate it above OE 6, and recommend it to anyone does not like Live Mail, or Windows Mail, to give it a try. Perhaps Gizmo and team would give eM Client a review and rating for us?

eM client seems to be a nice eMail client but from the advertisement I do not see much difference to Thunderbird, except from the integrated messaging.

Thunderbird is reliable, stabil and in the eMail business for quite a while now. It works in all Windows versions.

Thunderbird is completely free with full functionality while eM's free license is limited and only allows two accounts. That is a no-go criteria for many users.

Agreed with George. Thunderbird certainly had some issues moving from V2 to V3 but these are ironed out now. Thunderbird also has the advantage of being quickly patched in the even of a vulnerability being discovered, and MozBackup supports this as well as other applications. Foxmail is competent enough but hasn't been updated for a while. Pegasus is also good (if you need this power and like the interface) although it's not so easy to set up. Element Mail is a recently updated and useful lightweight offering from the UK but still needs .NET Framework to run. Other alternatives could be the browser integrated offerings from Opera and especially SeaMonkey which I liked a lot.

SeaMonkey is my default internet app. My word processor has a link that opens SeaMonkey. SeaMonkey supports multiple home pages. I use my blogs plus a search engine. It is the perfect internet app - now that it has Lightning extension - for a writer or anyone with home office. It has a html processor, e-mail and news groups, chat, address book, and browser; with the Lightning extension it has calendar and tasks. I use it on my home desktop and the portable version on my USB office for travel.

I want some smart phone to have it. Talk it up with Mozilla and mobile companies.

Several of my older relatives use it, like it because all the internet features they use are in one application. It simplifies things for them.

It uses less ram than the Firefox and Thunderbird combination.

SeaMonkey is sexy.
