Default Site category suggestion - free emoticons

Perhaps under a Site category there could be a subcategory for free Smiley and/or Emoticons for use on boards. IOWs stuff that's been checked out by the reviewer and shown to be safe for posting on forums.

The smiley itself may be ok to post but sometimes browsing the site to pick one out you end up with scumware on your system, if you get my drift.

Also any good sites for "make your own smileys" would be of interest if uninfected.

You may try EmoteMaker software. I haven't used it myself though... so can't say how it is.

Their main site has orange WOT rating... don't know why. You may find it on CNet and Softpedia though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try that one. It's pretty much limited to small circle faces type. So far the best one I've found is one I've been using for years. Basic emoticons of various sizes:

plus now it has a signmaker applet. You can type in your own text but there's not that many face types to choose from.

Also I found a few funny user-created ones on this site:

but I'd like to get more large animated types. On that last site this one is pretty good, esp. after you've been debugging code for awhile:
