Came across an article which sounded interesting to me...just a chitchat topic.
http://www.rarst.net/thoughts/software-giveaway/ (WOT Green) - Just read 1-2 articles in this blog, liked it.

I always thought "Giveaways" were like free samples of drugs.
The first dose or so is free, then when you are hooked, you have to pay, to get the next version, the next upgrade, the new feature, the current license. Commercial flypaper. Freeware is the boxer shorts of the software underpants world.

The way I look at it, there is a very thin line between giveaway, spam and complete commercial motives of the parties involved...it's completely "grey".
Below is a sort of "if" loop.... Never read "Give Away" in isolation...read other free blogs for similar giveaways...look for posts in forums for questions the answer for which is the "giveaway" that was recently posted...is there any new version for that paid software due to be released in near future? So when you look for spam, don't just use virus (spam)definition, need heuristics analysis ![]() I have become so smart..thanks to A...I mean mods here
