While doing a routine scan, I noticed the names of some files flashing by. Some were pertaining to languages.
I searched my hard disk and have transferred a whole bunch of these files to a folder pending deletion. I also chanced upon some .wav files in a folder in OpenOffice. They too have been transferred to the folder of death. This folder now has 831 files and occupies 62 MB. Nothing to shout about in the days of GBs, but still ... I'll wait for a couple of days and then bung the lot. The Piriform guys (CCleaner) outsmarted me. Their language files (in CCleaner\Lang) are .dll files with prefixes such as lang-1025, lang-1026, etc. So they stay but I'm not happy. I could use a trial-and-error procedure, but watching paint dry is an option! |

I've found it's safe to delete the whole "lang" folder from CCleaner's program files if you're happy working with English only.
I used to do this after every CCleaner version update but I tend not to bother these days (though my OCD is not completely cured yet!). |

Guess I can toss it from Defraggler (the other Piriform software on my PC) as well! |
