Pet Peeve: Doesn't anyone use search (engines) anymore?

One of my pet peeves:

People who ask for something on ANY forum anywhere without first using the local search function to see if it has already been addressed or
a general "gimmie, I'm too lazy to use.." google, yahoo, dogpile, etc. to
find what I want.

I'm sure this is part of the reason, but I also think folks like to initiate a response for other reasons too. Could be control by manipulation, to enable feelings of self worth, or even genuine ignorance. Many new users in what we might refer to as third world countries for instance have never heard of Google.
Once they become "enlightened" maybe they would wish to return to that former state?

Now the search button on the main site is more outstanding. When in earlier version of Drupal, some asked where's the search button, quite a number of times I noted. The old button possibly was well camouflaged.
