Life without Office the iPad way?

Came across this:

He says CIOs and others are using the iPad to make plans, make budgets, communicate with people, "and all the other things you do to run a business". Before the iPad came, a CIO would not buy a computer if it did not run Microsoft Office. "But now, they hold up an iPad and they don’t miss Office. They are beginning to learn that they can do without Office. So iPad has been very helpful in that way, it makes people think differently."

This could have a very interesting trickle-down effect.

How do you go from needing Microsoft Office to not even needing a keyboard? You don't.

Office suites are the tools of grunts. Golf clubs are the tools of Chief Officers.

If these COs had bought Android phones instead blindly buying Blackberries (to prove they are businessmen), they might have found it handier than an iPad to pass over the dinner table to show people pictures.
