Looks like there's another battle raging over how Apple and Google are "interpreting" HTML 5. On the other side are Mozilla and, surprise, surprise, Microsoft.
It seems that Apple and Google are trying to tie down a lot of things to use of their respective browsers, much like Microsoft did in the past. Mozilla man blasts Apple and Google for HTML5 abuse A word of caution: the link uses an "adult" word. |

That's interesting. Other than that, the big browser players can't agree to a single open-source, royalty-free video codec for html5.
While Google is pushing its open-sourced html5 video format based on VP8 video codec (.webm) and has convinced Mozilla and Opera to add webm support to their browsers, it's uncertain now if Safari and IE will like to use it ![]() Sources: |
