Saw R.D.J. with Rainbow in the late 70s at the Liverpool Empire and it was a superb gig; his voice was really powerful and soared to great heights.

Haven't listened to any Rainbow for many a year but on reading your post I listened to 'Stargazer'. It still sounds fantastic, head and shoulders above later Rainbow material.

I saw RJD at Donington rock fest in '87 and he was awesome. A true rock and roller.
