The first Sunday in every May is International Dawn Chorus Day.
To celebrate, this year I've have had some fun putting together Birdsong Free Online - a page of chirpy links to explore and enjoy. ![]() Bird lovers, please feel free to post your own anecdotes, likes, dislikes, suggestions, whatever either here in this thread or in the comments on the birdsong page: http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...ree-online.htm Enjoy Bob Special thanks to site editor Tony Last edited by Bob; 01. Joking apart... I find individual birdsong traits seriously fascinating.
For example, I've read that the male common blackbird (Turdus merula) builds up his own personal song repertoire year after year. And the songs he composes get more and more elaborate over time. So you can listen out for a particularly expert composer. Each morning and evening he displays his own collection of songs. And what a wonderful songster he is! ( example)

![]() I see the Wikipedia Great Tit page does also link to an Internet Bird Collection page which includes this eloquent video. Anyway, Xenocanto has dozens more Great Tit (Parus major) mp3 recordings of various lengths.
