But hey, what a privilege it was for him to go and watch the most successful club ever! Who did LFC play at Anfield on that day? Which season?
No need to be sorry, these things happen and you have to see him to believe him! He's full of fun, love and pranks but so caring it's untrue. Needless to say his mother and I love him to pieces.

William is 13, his brother James is 15. William, Down's features aside, looks like his Mother and is built like me. James looks like me (sorry son) but is built like his Mother. Needless to say William is now getting James back for the way he 'playfully' poked him when he was younger.

The game they went to was sometime late September, early October last season, I'm not sure who Liverpool were playing. They did win, that much I do know,

Rik

I try from a distance, the boys live in Devon with their Mum, probably why they don't support Southampton. For my sins I do, born here, but after going to uni in Exeter spent 20 years in that part of the world.

My late Grandfather used to take me to the old Dell, I saw some great matches, unfortunately that was back in the days of real violence at games. Fancy a sharp 50p in your head anyone?

Saints are now probably at their lowest, but there are some good times for me to remember:

1976 - FA Cup Final : Southampton 1 Manchester United 0

I can't remember the year but I saw Saints go down 3 - 2 to Forest in the old League Cup final.

A few years back Saints did travel to Old Trafford and beat Man U 6 - 3. I think we must have substituted Brazil on that day.

For better or worse you stick by the team you've chosen, I suppose that's part of the fun of being a football supporter.

Most clubs go through the era of success. I mean look at LFC. But things change. Money and the media is the root of the problem when it comes to football, especialy in Europe. Any team that beats Man U i'm greatful for. I was a LFC supporter since i was 13 years old probably...and now i'm 27 years old. I live in South Africa and i must tell you that i think Liverpool has the most supporters in the world. I went to sea Spain when they played Confederation Cup, i went to the training sessions as well. Met Torres,Alonso,Riera...got a photo with all of them. We even walked with them, when they stayed at the casino hotel. I've got the photos for proof!

Do you know a Terry Pain perhaps, i think he played for Southampton. I know he supports them i think...

He lives here in S.A now for years now. He is on the Supersport panel. Supersoprt would be like ESPN for example...

Sounds like you've got some great football memories already but, can you bend a ball like Beckham? Ignore the club he played for before he went aboard. The only other player I've known be able to do that is the French player Platini (again not sure if the spelling is correct.)

Yes I remember Terry Pain. That's from the days when I went to the Dell with my Grandfather. He was, and for those that remember him, still is, a very influential figure in the history of SFC.

The next move on for S.A. is to become as good at football as you are at rugby. That would be interesting...

That will never happen Rik. To much politics envolved and so on...we can talk bout it for ages rather not say more publically about it...

I don't support S.A football at all Rik, infact i hate it! England and Spain i support (International teams). Well no surprise there because of the LFC players. It's funny though that England always struggles when it comes to the World Cup. They've got the players but some how just don't make it in the tournament.

Our rugby is awesome, what a lions tour and the Tri nations! Our rugby team i support, but football is my love and the MOTOGP. But football comes first...

So, which football team do you prefer? The Broncos, the Cowboys, or the Steelers?

Oops....wrong football.

It is strange for me to see the word "football" used in terms of "soccer" even though it actually makes much more sense than what we in the US term as "football".....

Yes Kendall, we here in S.A use the word soccer as well. I prefer to use that but Rik here is from England so i use the term football. As far as i know people in England hate the term soccer? Rik?
