Above is the kind of email we often get as spam in our mails. But, this was sent via the contact form on the forum.

I had immediately banned the member cecilia after I got this email, but I don't know to how many of you the member might have sent email to. So, if you get such an email, please disregard it as spam, and delete it.

These spammers may repeat this again, after registering with a different ID. So, please be careful of such emails. While the sender may seem to be legitimate, as it is coming via Gizmo's forum, but as you can see from the contents, its a scam email.

While we cannot control this, as we do not control what a member sends to other in background via the contact form... we can however take action against such spammer-members. If you get such an email from our forum, please bring it to the attention of the moderators here, and we will ban these members.

You can however change the settings on your profile page of the forum, to prevent other members from sending you emails, if you wish so. To do so, please follow these steps :

1. After logging in the forum, access the User Control Panel, via the "User CP" link, which can see on the menu row.

2. Once you are in the Control Panel, click on the link "Edit Options" under the "Settings and Options" block.

3. In the right hand side, under the "Messaging and Notification" block, uncheck the check box which says "Receive Email from Other Members".

Similarly, you can change other options in the Control Panel, as per your wish to protect your privacy.

In case of any problem, please feel free to contact any of the moderators. We are here to help.

Enjoy the forum, and be safe.
