I've used Opera 10 ever since the Alpha version although I'm still using Firefox to check sites with Link Extend. I had one minor issue with the alpha in that occasionally the background would momentarily turn to black when changing pages, but then would correct itself. I've had no issues at all with the beta versions 1 or 2, so it's safe enough to try now if you want to
