Excellent questions, Anupam. Just my thoughts:
Running cleanmgr /sagerun as a command after making file cleanup selections under cleanmgr /sagerun offers cleanup of additional files than running the GUI Disk Cleanup Tool of Windows.
However, the GUI Disk Cleanup Tool also allows cleaning up all but the most recent System Restore Point (as well as a link to removing unnecessary programs). The GUI way can save many clicks if one wants to perform cleanup with those items too.
Anupam, I'm not aware of anything that cleanmgr can do which the great CCleaner cannot! On the contrary, CCleaner does considerably more cleanup.
So why use cleanmgr at all?
I don't know.
Perhaps one has an old extra computer not connected to the internet and not with the CCleaner program on it or even a working disk device that can have the CCleaner installation program from a CD installed on it.
There must be a good reason, for why else would I have yapped about it?
