I haven't tried Opera Alpha 10 yet or indeed heard of Minefield, although from what you say it may be worth my while to do a bit of research. I have to admit I don't really bother much with testing any pre-release versions.
I've been using Opera as my main browser since it first went completely free (ie. removed the ad banner) - it has all the features I really need built in or available with a little customisation, and I especially like the email client. I'm so used to it now, and have it set up just how I want it, that consequently I don't have the desire to change browsers unless Opera somehow falls way behind, or changes significantly for the worse.
