I haven't lost faith completely (yet!) because the (one and only) recent comment on their forum appears to be genuine and written in English by a Chinese tester who seems impressed although he says the program still needs work.
I'm currently attempting to open up a dialogue with the developers direct in St. Petersburg and will let everyone know how I get on.

Installed it on Windows XP Professional SP2...yes thank you, see what you can find out. Will not try it again though, unless i see a lot more positive reports
