OK, I didn't get a subdomain on their domain, because I already had a spare domain to use.
You don't want to use a subdomain if you can avoid it, there are a lot of negatives. You certainly don't want to use one if you have a commercial site of any kind, but it's maybe OK for home pages and stuff.
That's because you don't own it in any way, so you can't take anything with you if / when you leave (and all sites move at some stage). You get yourname.netti.net or whatever for free - but actually it will cost you money. Aren't you going to get any links? They will all vaporise when you move - all gone. Basically all you are doing is building up those people's site for them
Buy your own domain, it's only $9 a year or something. Get a .com, unless you really don't care about commercial stuff like earning any money, getting search traffic, or whatever. In that case you could get a .info or something, @ 99 cents a year. OK for a family site, not a commercial one. Only a .com or your national version should be used for that.
The 000webhost test is not coming along too well as I can't get WordPress to work on their site, or get access to the forum to ask why. And email is really, really terrible there. Remember, if you have yoursite.com with them, your email goes through them as well. And right now it don't.
So it could be that I'll be looking closely at one of those ones you suggest, fairly soon. Don't really want adverts on my pages so I'll see if either is ad-free first, and maybe go with that one.
