I know absolutely nothing with respect to Multimedia. I've never even burned music to a CD because a friend does this for me.

I would like to copy online videos/clips in a DVD format for my mother to watch on her DVD player.

I realize there are many "compatibility" issues to consider but I'd like to know how to begin. I'd appreciate any recommendations on converters (free or for purchase.)

If this is too broad a question, perhaps someone can lead me to a instructional site?
