Well I went ahead yesterday and got a license for Prevx protection and removal capabilities. I run x64, so there was no use in paying for safe online when I can't use it yet. I may not purchase it when it is released, I may not need it. I found the fact that this app runs soooo light, what looks to me to be great customer service on their support forum, and a well earned good reputation overall as just too attractive. I was using Nod32 and then switched to MSE and gave it a try. I was really wanting to switch to a free av solution. Although I think MSE is a great free solution, it will slow down some operations, such as opening up other drives or partitions for the 1st time or getting into programs and features for the first time for example, with it always scanning archives. I put MSE on my mother's and sister's pc when it was released, but I think that was a good choice for them since they don't really dig into windows and other hard drives, they just do email, office, and stream media. They were running Avast, but I thought that windows started a little quicker and felt a little lighter with MSE on their pcs. I was willing to drop Avast because of no heuristics (except for email). I think heuristics is important today, Avast may have that in their beta build, but I am not sure. I can instantly feel the better performance with Prevx on my pc though, as compared to MSE. When one has a 3G quad-core and 8G of ram under the hood, and the av is causing some slugishness issues, well it's time to make a change IMO.
