I was able to access system restore from the "new task" in task manager. Tried system restore first and did not work, thought for a second and typed in "start menu" and got a window that had the "Program" folder and a few other programs to click on. Clicked on Program folder and in there was was the "System Recovery" from which I accessed the "System Restore" function, hope this will help you. I'm assuming that your mouse is still working and hoping you still have restore pionts to go to.
