I think this is a good point raised by kendall.
I use CCleaner to clean my system of temporary files, browsing history etc. Recently, I noticed that even after cleaning with CCleaner, recent history of Firefox was not getting erased. Cookies, temporary files, form information, cache... this all was deleted, but not the recent history. I now use the "Clear Recent History" button to erase it.
I think the main reason to use a cleaner like CCleaner is that, with a single program you can clean the stuff of your browsers, and can clean the system too. Saves you from cleaning the individual browsers if you are using more than one. Still, like I stated above, the cleaners might not be doing the job completely.
I have noticed, 50-60 MB of data gets accumulated on my PC, on a daily basis. This includes the browser data, temporary files on PC, etc. I therefore, use CCleaner daily.
