New version of PC Tools Firewall 6.0.0.81 has been released, and is available from the PC Tools website.

I had the previous version of PC Tools installed i.e. 6.0.0.74. Today I installed the new version. After installation, and a restart, it first detected my network and identified it correctly. But, after that I was not able to connect to the internet.

I have to use a program to login to my ISP server, after which I am able to access the internet. Even after allowing the program, the program was not able to connect to the server. Even a ping to the server did not work... but I could see the incoming and outgoing packets increase.

I then uninstalled the firewall, and after a restart, everything was back to normal.

I gave it a try two times. First time, installing the new version over the old one... and second time, uninstalling the old version, and then installing the new version. Both times, I could not connect to the internet.

Its a pity, since I had been using PC Tools Firewall without a trouble for long time. Seems like I might have to try another firewall now. I am not installing it again, until a new version is released. They do not even have release notes on their site to see what changes are there in the new version. If someone can find it, please share it here.
