After playing around with these two DE, I found that you can make KDE look like the default Gnome look and also Gnome can be made to look like the default KDE look!
Making Gnome look like KDE was pretty easy but making KDE look like Gnome was harder considering that I don't know how to make KDE show 'Applications', 'Places' and 'System' instead of icons. One way is to make icons that spells 'Applications', 'Places' and 'System' but that's not easy for me to do and it's time consuming.
Anyway, the point here is that user interface can easily be customized given the time. The real value of a DE/WM isn't the user interface as debtboy had said.
